Process principles

  • Often used in the automotive body outer skin
  • Output power of the laser between 2.5 to 6 kW
  • The laser beam melts only the filler wire and not the base material

  • Creation of smooth, impenetrable seams, which don’t require any rework after the brazing process
  • Painting possible immediately after the brazing process
  • Low heat input into the base material -> low deformation
  • No destruction of the zinc coating
  • High process speed
  • Stable processes

Typical outer body skin processes

  • Roof seam
  • Tailgate
