Field Service Engineer

To meet our continued growth and strengthen our team we are looking for a field service engineer to commence immediately with Laserline KK. The Japanese based Laserline KK, founded in 2011, is responsible for the entire Japanese market and focused on growing the install and customer base rapidly, but continuing to ensure customer satisfaction.
Job description:
The successful applicant would be required to perform various field service activities on Laserline supplied equipment such as, diagnosis of faults, repairs, new equipment installations and preventive maintenance. This will be conducted under the supervision of Laserline KK, but also in close co-operation with the service department in Germany. Training will be conducted both ‘on the job’ and at the factory in Germany; re-certification of factory training in Germany is required periodically. Extensive travel throughout Japan is required for the service work. As well as the field service activities mentioned above, the Field Service Engineer will also be required to conduct on site customer training for operators and maintenance personnel. Comprehensive documentation is required to be completed for all service related activities. The field service engineer is also required to give telephone support to customers during and outside of normal business hours. Administration of spare parts handling is also included within the scope of activities. The employee would report directly to the Managing Director of Laserline KK, but is required to interact with all other employees and pro-active in character. All employees are expected to support the company with administration work as required.
Your Profile:
- Experience in technical service for 3 years
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in mechanical or preferably electrical engineering
- Good skills in written and verbal English
- Valid driver’s licence
- Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
- Experience in any laser technology or optical engineering is preferred

Technical Sales Engineer

Job description:
The successful applicant would be required to perform various technical sales activities for Laserline supplied industrial laser equipment throughout Japan.
This will be conducted under the supervision of Laserline KK. Extensive travel throughout Japan is required with additional international travel (Germany) required periodically. Product training will be conducted ‘on the job’ with additional training overseas as required. The new employee is required to analyze customer needs and offer the corresponding combination in application and products, develop the company network in the laser industry and closely follow all sales projects from initial contact until completed delivery. The Technical Sales Engineer will be required to have a practical knowledge of the laser applications and be deeply involved during application trials. The employee would report directly to the Managing Director of Laserline KK, but is required to interact with all other employees and be pro-active in character. All employees are expected to support the company with administration work as required.
Your Profile:
- Experience in technical sales for high capital products for 3 years
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in mechanical or preferably electrical engineering
- Experience in applicable industry sectors e.g. automotive inc. sub-suppliers, heavy industry, and systems integrators
- Good skills in written and verbal English
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in manufacturing technologies (e.g. joining)
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
- Experience in any laser technology or optical engineering is preferred
- Valid driver’s licence
